Airbnb: tiny home by the Pacific Coast Highway

I have been obsessed with tiny homes long before our trip down The Pacific Coast Highway. When HGTV began airing shows about them, I was glued to the screen for hours and have definitely watched almost every tiny home episode they aired. There’s just something so fun about a tiny home- it’s like a playhouse for grown-ups. Unfortunately, there aren’t many by NYC. So I knew a trip to California was the perfect opportunity to finally experience staying in one.

We found this tiny home through Airbnb and its only 20 minutes away from the highway. We were so exhausted from driving all day so it was definitely the perfect place to rest after a long day.

This time of the year( in October) California was already getting colder, but they had plenty of blankets and a space heater, which kept us comfortable all night. In the morning I remember waking up and thinking how pleasantly sunny and bright it was inside– and I couldn’t stop smiling realizing I’m finally in a tiny home.

There is a comfortably sized kitchen area, so you can make your own breakfast too, and a small fridge and 2 burner stove top. They provide all basic utensils and bakeware too. The hosts even left us supplies to make coffee.

The property hosts have a small farm and their own chickens. If you are not in the mood to prepare breakfast they conveniently offer breakfast options from local, farm produce. ( One of our biggest regrets was not getting to try it. Our service was very limited driving down the PCH. And the drive took us longer than expected, so we weren’t able to let them know on time that we’d want to stay for breakfast.)

I loved going on the porch in front of the home and relaxing with a cup of coffee. There’s beautiful nature surrounding the property so you’ll wish you could stay here all day ( I know I did). If you are planning a PCH road trip, stop by and stay in this cozy tiny-home.

P. S.
And if you do don’t forget to get the breakfast!

(extra info)
The bathroom has a compostable toilet. It was my first time using one and although I prefer a regular flush toilet, it was not a big deal. The house also has a lofted area with mattress. Overall it can comfortably fit 4 people if needed.
